2009 Grant Information

Rockwell Collins New Team Support and Teacher Stipends are available for teams of underrepresented minorities or females, teams from zip codes with median household income less than 80% of the state per city-data.com, teams from schools with a free/reduced meal population of 40% or more, and/or teams with Rockwell Collins mentors.

New Team Support covers team registration and FLL robot set (estimated cost including shipping and sales tax is $692). New Team Teacher Stipends of $500 are also available. Applications will be considered as they are submitted and are due by September 30, 2009.

Eleven (11) teams received New Team Support totaling $7,350.89.
Eight (8) coaches received stipends totaling $4,000.00.

Rockwell Collins Second Year Team Support and Teacher Stipends are available for teams that received Rockwell Collins New Team Support and Teacher Stipends in 2008. Team Support covers cost of team registration. Teacher Stipends of $250 are also available. Applications will be e-mailed to eligible teams and are due by September 30, 2009.

Ten (10) teams received Second Year Team Support totaling $2,285.00.
Five coaches received stipends totaling $1,250.00.

FIRST Hardship Grants are available for up to three teams with financial hardships that do not qualify for Rockwell Collins grants. Hardship Grants cover any two of team registration ($212), FLL robot set ($418.70) and field setup kit ($75). To apply, please send LeRoy Nelson an email with team information including name of host organization (school, club, etc.) and one paragraph briefly describing the team situation including an explanation of why the team needs financial support. Applications are due by June 25 or July 23, 2009.

Three (3) teams received Hardhip Grants totaling $1,204.70.
